Michelle Kooi is passionate about working with entrepreneurs and small business owners in all stages,whether just starting out, growing, maintaning, or winding down. Through impactful intuitive business coaching and advisory work, Michelle seeks to help people navigate change, build health and wealth in their business, work through fear and break through blocks, set intentions and goals, plan for the future, and act an accountability partner. She will work as a guide and partner with you, and also is available for speaking engagements and virtual or on-site training. Michelle specializes in working with people going through life transitions, or wanting to make one. She is committed to sustainability and utilizing business as force for good.
Michelle obtained her CPA license in 2006. She has over 20 years of experience in accounting, finance, coaching and income tax, with extensive experience working with small businesses, individuals, and not-for-profit organizations.
Michelle values connection and being involved in her community. She currently serves on the Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado’s finance committee, sits on the board of the Women's Resource Center and is the Marketing Committee Chair, and participates in group volunteer projects with the firm. She served for 3 years as a Board member of KUNC Public radio of Northern Colorado (serving as Finance Committee Chair for 2 years), served as an advisory member of the Small Business Development Center of Northern Colorado, was on the Compass Advisory Committee for the Health District of Larimer County and a counselor for the Life Crisis Support for Crossroads Church.
Michelle values education and sharing her knowledge and experience through speaking in the community and writing. She has covered topics such as fraud prevention, starting a business, workplace wellness, small business tax and accounting, managing a real estate business, stress management and running a heart-led business.
Michelle joined the firm in 2017, and became a shareholder in 2019. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business/Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism. Additionally, she attended the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, and is a Certified Yoga Teacher and Holistic health coach.
Outside of work, Michelle enjoys trail running, mountain biking, practicing yoga, hiking skiing, camping, cooking up delicious healthy food, and enjoying live music.
